Nutrition and the Human Health: Chemistry & Biology
This middle school course uses nutrition and human health as a gateway to explore key concepts in chemistry and biology. Students will uncover what food is made of on a molecular level—learning about atoms, molecules, macronutrients, and micronutrients—and how these components fuel our bodies, build cells, and support vital functions. Students will also compare different diets, learn about food ingredients, and discover how to build a balanced, healthy plate. This course blends science with practical life skills, helping students understand not just what they eat, but why it matters.
